Hedfree is indicated for the acute treatment of migraine attacks with or without aura in adults.
How it works
Hedfree contains sumatriptan, a selective 5-hydroxytryptamine1 (5-HT1) receptor subtype agonist and naproxen sodium, a member of the arylacetic acid group of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDS).
Indications
Hedfree is indicated for the acute treatment of migraine attacks with or without aura in adults.
Dosage
The recommended dose is 1 tablet. The Single doses of Hedfree were effective for the acute treatment of migraine in adults & if 2nd tablet is required then it has to be taken at a gap of 2-3 hrs.
Not to be taken more than 2 Hedfree tablets in 24 hours. Hedfree may be administered with or without food. Tablets should not be split, crushed or chewed.
Side Effects
Sumatriptan
Transient hypertension, dizziness, flushing, fatigue, drowsiness, weakness, seizures, nausea and vomiting, heat, tightness in any part of body, paraesthesia, seizures, rebound headache with frequent use.
Naproxen sodium
Heartburn, constipation, diarrhoea, ulcers, stomach bleeding, hypertension, skin rashes, palpitations.
Contraindication
Sumatriptan
Ischaemic heart disease, hypertension, epilepsy, hepatic or renal impairment. Patients should be cautioned not to drive.
Sumatriptan and ergotamine should not be administered within 24 hrs of each other.
Pregnancy & Lactation- Contraindicated.
Naproxen Sodium
Naproxen sodium is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to naproxen and naproxen sodium.
Asthma, urticaria or allergic-type reactions after taking aspirin or other NSAIDs. Severe, rarely fatal, anaphylactic-like reactions to NSAIDs have been reported in such patients.
Pregnancy & Lactation- Contraindicated.
