How it works
GOVERT is a brand of cinnarizine, a drug derivative of piperazine and characterized as an antihistamine and a calcium channel blocker.
GOVERT containing Cinnarizine is particularly used in Vertigo, Motion sickness and Related Disorders.
Indications
1. Peripheral vascular disease
2. Motion sickness
3. Cerebrovascular disorders
4. Vertigo and vestibular disorders
Dosage
1. Peripheral vascular disease: 75 mg bid or tid.
2. Motion sickness: 25 mg taken 2 hr before travel and
3. followed by every 8 hr during the journey if necessary.
4. Cerebrovascular disorders: 75 mg 1-3 times daily.
5. Vertigo and vestibular disorders: 25 mg tid.
Side Effects
• Central Nervous System : Drowsiness, headache, GI upset, unsteadiness, headache, depression dizziness and incoordination.
• Skin : Rash.
• Gastrointestinal : Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea or constipation, loss of appetite or increased appetite and stomach pain.
• Miscellaneous : Weight gain, perspiration or allergic reactions and urinary difficulty or retention.
Contraindication
Contraindicated in patients with Parkinson’s disease, newborns, and hypersensitivity.
