Indications

How it works

BEVICET is used is used along with other medications to control partial onset seizures (seizures that involve only one part of the brain) in adults. Brivaracetam is in a class of medications called anticonvulsants. It works by decreasing abnormal electrical activity in the brain. The precise mechanism by which BEVICET exerts its anticonvulsant activity is not known. Brivaracetam displays a high and selective affinity for synaptic vesicle protein 2A (SV2A) in the brain, which may contribute to the anticonvulsant effect.
