How it works
Amitriptyline is the most widely used tricyclic antidepressant (TCA). It is used to treat a number of mental disorders, including major depressive disorder and anxiety, and less commonly psychosis, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, and bipolar disorder. Other uses include prevention of migraines, postherpetic neuralgia, neuropathic pain such as fibromyalgia, and less commonly insomnia. It increases synaptic concentration of serotonin and/or norepinephrine in the CNS by blocking the neuronal reuptake of norepinephrine and serotonin.
Methylcobalamin is used for the treatment of vitamin B12 deficiency. Vitamin B12 is very important for the brain and nerves and for the production of red blood cells.
It functions by making a substance called myelin, which covers nerve fibers and protects them. The myelin sheath does not develop properly or remain healthy without adequate methylcobalamin. It is a derivative of vitamin B12, is used to treat peripheral neuropathy, diabetic neuropathy, and to treat amyotrophic lateral sclerosis as a preliminary therapy.
Chlordiazepoxide is a psychotropic agent that is used to manage symptoms associated with anxiety disorders.
