Major depressive disorder
Depression comorbid with mild anxiety

How it works

FLUPENTIXOL  in FRAXIDEP is a typical antipsychotic drug of the thioxanthene class. It inhibits dopamine-mediated effects by blocking postsynaptic dopamine receptors in the CNS.
MELITRACEN in FRAXIDEP is a tricyclic antidepressant which increases the levels of chemical messengers in the brain that help in regulating the mood and treat depression.

Indications

Major depressive disorder
Depression comorbid with mild anxiety

Dosage

Once in a day if required twice in a day

Side Effects

Rigidity, tremors, restlessness, tardive dyskinesia, insomnia, dryness of mouth, wt gain, sexual dysfunction, galactorrhoea and menstrual disturbances.
Potentially Fatal: Neuroleptic malignant syndrome (hyperthermia, hypertonicity of skeletal muscles, unconsciousness and autonomic nervous system instability).

Contraindication

Hypersensitivity. Extremely excitable and overactive patients; mania; porphyria; coma; preexisting CNS depression; bone-marrow supression; phaeochromocytoma. Lactation
