How it works
Leflar containing Leflunomide is used in the treatment of Rheumatoid arthritis and psoriatic arthritis. Leflunomide blocks the action of certain chemical messengers that are responsible for inflammation, swelling and redness associated with certain autoimmune diseases. It suppresses the underlying disease process, rather than simply treating the disease.

Dosage
Adult: Oral- Rheumatoid arthritis; Psoriatic arthritis- Maintenance: 10-20 mg/day.
Side Effects
Nausea, Headache, Rash, Diarrhea, Respiratory tract infection, Abnormal liver enzyme, Dyspepsia
Contraindication
Leflar containing Leflunomide is contraindicated in severe hepatic impairment due to hepatotoxicity. Other contraindications include hypersensitivity, previous or current skin reactions, immunosuppression, and impaired bone marrow function.
