Moderate to severe pain
Symptomatic relief of fever
How it works
Paracetamol (acetaminophen) is a pain reliever and a fever reducer. Paracetamol is used to treat many conditions such as headache, muscle aches, arthritis, backache, toothaches, colds, and fevers.
Analgesic action is due to inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis. Prostaglandins are chemicals that are released in response to illness or injury and are responsible for causing pain. Paracetamol blocks the production of prostaglandins, making the body less aware of the pain or injury.
Antipyretic action is due to action on hypothalamic heat-regulating center of the brain that reduces body temperature by increasing sweating and heat loss.
