How it works
Omeprazole is a proton pump inhibitor that decreases the amount of acid produced in the stomach. It inhibits the parietal cell H+ / K+ ATP pump, the final step of acid production. In turn, omeprazole suppresses gastric basal and stimulated acid secretion. It helps treat acid-related diseases of the stomach and intestine such as heartburn, acid reflux, and peptic ulcer disease.
Domperidone is used in the treatment of indigestion, nausea, and vomiting. It increases the movement of food through the stomach and intestines, thereby relieving bloating, fullness, and gastric discomfort. Domperidone acts as a peripherally selective antagonist of the dopamine D2 and D3 receptors and provides relief from nausea by blocking receptors at the chemoreceptor trigger zone at the floor of the fourth ventricle.
