December 12, 2021

This series includes a case study of a 22-year-old female with history of syncopal episodes since childhood along with a positive family history with respect to syncope. She was successfully treated with mexiletine, propranolol and the intravenous infusion of KCl and MgSO4; signifying role of mexiletine in shortening QT Interval in type 2 long QT syndrome.

It also covers an abstract from Heart Rhythm Congress (HRC) conference held on October 3rd -6th, 2021., Al-Sheikhi J, et al throws light on efficacy and safety of the DiamondTemp ablation catheter system in ventricular tachycardia ablation.

An invention of POEMS electro-optical cardiac stimulator to study arrhythmias has also been acknowledged. Researchers stated that it could open up new therapeutic options for cardiac arrhythmias, as cell types other than muscle cells could become targets for anti-arrhythmic therapies.

Lastly, importance of additional imaging by cardiac MRI has been proven in identifying structural abnormalities in patients with right ventricular outflow tract associated arrhythmias.
