Fenasteride is used to treat benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) in men with an enlarged prostate & also in male pattern alopecia. Fenasteride helps improve urinary flow and may also reduce your need for prostate surgery later on. Fenasteride is for use in men only.
How it works
Fenasteride is a Selective inhibitor of type 1 and type 2 isoforms of 5-alpha-reductase thus inhibits the conversion of testosterone to dihydrotestosterone (DHT). DHT is the androgen primarily responsible for the initial development and subsequent enlargement of the prostate gland.

Dosage
1 Tablet once a day.
Side Effects
Decreased libido (sex drive); decreased amount of semen released during sex; impotence (trouble getting or keeping an erection); or Breast tenderness or enlargement.
Contraindication
Contraindicated for use in women and children
Contraindicated for men under age 18
Warnings and Precautions
Serious Warnings and Precautions Fenasteride is for use for men only.
Exposure of Women-Risk to Male Fetus: Fenasteride is absorbed through the skin. Therefore, women who are pregnant or may be pregnant should not handle Fenasteride capsules.
