How it works
Trypsin is a natural anti-inflammatory agent which is used to reduce pain and swelling caused by accidental and surgical trauma. It is a proteolytic enzyme that increases the concentration of antibiotics at an infection site, thereby reducing instances of infection and speeding up healing from infection. It helps in removal of proteinaceous exudates, clot fibrin & pus cells by making more free plasmin available, thereby, increasing body’s own mechanism of healing & removing inflammation.
It is found in the digestive system of many vertebrates for the hydrolyses of proteins.
Bromelain is a general name for a family of sulfhydryl-containing, proteolytic enzymes obtained from Ananas comosus, the pineapple plant, although it exists in all parts of the fresh plant and fruit. The extract has a history of folk medicine use. As a culinary ingredient, it may be used as a meat tenderizer. Bromelain’s anti-inflammatory activity appears to be due to a variety of physiological actions. Evidence indicates that bromelain’s action is in part a result of inhibiting the generation of bradykinin at the inflammatory site via depletion of the plasma kallikrein system, as well as limiting the formation of fibrin by reduction of clotting cascade intermediates. Bromelain has also been shown to stimulate the conversion of plasminogen to plasmin resulting in increased fibrinolysis
Rutoside or rutin in is a flavonoid glycoside that inhibits platelet aggregation, as well as decreases capillary permeability, thus making the blood thinner and improving microcirculation. It is used as an antioxidant and as a capillary/blood vessel protectant.
Diclofenac sodium is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory agent (NSAID) that has anti-inflammatory, analgesic and antipyretic action. The primary mechanism responsible for its anti-inflammatory, antipyretic and analgesic action is inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis by inhibition of cyclooxygenase (COX) pathway. Also, its gastrointestinal tolerability is better than that of other highly effective non-steroidal anti-inflammatory agents.
Indications
• Postoperative pain and edema
• Traumatic injury
• Osteoarthritis pain
• Sprains and strains
Dosage
1-2 tablets Twice a day, preferably half an hour before meal.
Side Effects
Bromelain can cause stomach upset, diarrhea, vomiting, rapid heartbeat, and heavy menstrual periods. It can trigger reactions in people with allergies to pineapples, certain pollens, carrots, celery, rye and wheat flour, latex, bee venom, and other substances. Diclofenac sodium is among the better-tolerated NSAIDs. Though 20% of patients on long-term treatment experience side effects, only 2% have to discontinue the drug, mostly due to gastrointestinal complaints
Contraindication
Not recommended for children or for women who are pregnant or breastfeeding.
